Autologous stem cells, NK cells, PRP, exosomes, and NAD+: what each one is, common uses, how many trips it takes, and how costs are confirmed.
Short answer
The five regenerative-medicine-related treatments people ask about most in Japan are autologous stem cells, NK immune cells, PRP, exosome infusions and NAD+ infusions. The first three are regulated under the Act on the Safety of Regenerative Medicine and must be registered (somatic stem cells are generally Class II, NK cells Class III, PRP Class II or III depending on use). As of September 2026 exosomes are not covered by that Act, and NAD+ drips are ordinary self-pay infusions. Treatments that need cell culture usually take two trips to Japan.
